Bark For Life today
Grab the leash and bring your dog to the American Cancer Society Bark For Life event this morning at Everett Animal Shelter/Langus Riverside Park, 400 Smith Island Road, Everett.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The noncompetitive walk starts at 10 a.m. The cost is $15 for one dog or $25 for two — including bandanas. Music and food will be at the event.
The event raises funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Proceeds also will be combined with the Everett Relay for Life.

Fair day in Silvana: The Silvana Fair begins at 9 a.m. today with the flag raising and opening ceremonies, followed by children’s games and judging of the animal exhibits. At noon, there will be live music. In the afternoon, there will be a tractor pull exhibition and other events. The fair concludes for the year with the Parade of Champions and closing ceremonies at 5 p.m. Food is available all day.

Jam at Forest Park: Nubian Jam, the annual celebration of African-American culture, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Forest Park, 802 Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. There will be speakers, live performances and vendors.
