Donate yearbooks
The Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society is seeking donations of school yearbooks from the Arlington, Darrington and Stanwood school districts.
School yearbooks are a valuable resource for people looking for family history. Visitors from as far away as Aust
ralia have used the society’s genealogical library to do family history research.
Donations can be made at the library, 135 N. Olympic Ave., from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
Yearbooks also can be mailed to SVGS, P.O. Box 34, Arlington, WA 98223.
SBX environmental assessment comments: The public may comment on a draft of an environmental assessment for the maintenance and repair of the Sea-Based X-Band radar vessel. The Missile Defense Agency said it plans to have that work done at the Todd Pacific Shipyards in Seattle this spring.
Naval Station Everett and Naval Air Station North Island in California are being considered as potential sites if something goes awry in Seattle.

Annual plant sale at fairgrounds: The Snohomish Conservation District has scheduled its annual spring tree and shrub sale at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, 14405 179th Ave SE in Monroe.
Buy plants for wildlife habitat, reforestation, native plant gardens, erosion control or living Christmas trees. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
