Donations of warm clothes sought
Marysville police officers are collecting coats, hats, gloves and other warm clothing for children during a three-day drive this week. Officers will be collecting the clothing at the Marysville Wal-Mart store on 64th Street and Highway 9 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
The event is sponsored by the Marysville Police Officers Association.
Citizens Academy starts: The next Lynnwood Police Department Citizens Academy starts Jan. 7 and runs Thursday evenings for several months. The free class, which teaches about civic life and police work, is a way for people to decide if they’re interested in becoming involved, according to volunteers.
