A program called “Your Money: Don’t Get Scammed,” is planned for 7 tonight at Smokey Point Home &Community Services, 3906 172nd St. NE in Arlington. It repeats at 1 p.m. Monday at the WSU Extension Building, 600 128th St. SE in Everett.
It’s offered by Senior Services of Snohomish County and admission is free.

Barbecuing basics and more: Grilling season is here, and so is Food Network TV personality and expert barbecue cook Konrad Haskins, who is scheduled to teach a class with barbecue tips for beginners and expert cooks at the Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. The class starts at 2 p.m. Sunday and includes demonstrations and samples. Karate awards: Five years ago, a karate program began at the Mukilteo YMCA, with 15 kids.
Today there are more than 240 youngsters participating.
YMCA Youth Karate Black Belts will be awarded at 7 tonight at Harbour Pointe Middle School, 5000 Harbour Pointe Blvd. in Mukilteo.
