Edmonds police plan awards ceremony
The Edmonds Police Department’s annual awards ceremony is set for 5:30 p.m. May 14 at the City Council chambers, 250 Fifth Ave. N. The awards honor police officers and employees as well as everyday people who went above and beyond. The public is invited.
Women invited to get pampered: The Edmonds Senior Center offers Ladies Night Out, with pampering for women of all ages from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $20, $10 for ages 14 and under, and include beverages (wine, mimosas, non-alcoholic beverages), appetizers, massages, beauty treatments, nail designs, samples and live music from Jazzbestos. Multiple vendors will be on hand for shopping. The senior center is at 220 Railroad Ave.
Proceeds from the event help the senior center toward the goal of a new building. To RSVP, call 425-774-5555 ext. 104.
Mother-daughter tea benefits scholarships: The Camano Island Women’s Republican Club’s Mother-Daughter Luncheon Tea is set for 12-2 p.m. Saturday at the Lost Lake Clubhouse, 1469 Lake Drive, Camano Island. Kathy Close will present “A Woman’s Life in Hats.” There will be salad, tea sandwiches, sweets, fruit and tea. Tickets are $10, $5 for ages 6-12, and are available to the public at the door. Advance tickets are available at Snow Goose Books and Frames, 8716 271st St., Stanwood. Proceeds benefit the CIWRC Scholarship Fund.
