Got an average cat?
The 10th annual Average Joe Cat Show is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 at the Spartan Recreation Center, 202 NE 185th St. in Shoreline.
The family-friendly event features a cat show with silly categories such as Most Impressive Ear Hair. There’s a photography show, adoption events, advice, crafts, a silent auction, vendors and more. Admission is $5, or $12 per family. All proceeds benefit Purrfect Pals, a nonprofit no-kill shelter in Arlington. The Everett Animal Shelter, PAWS, Feral Cat Spay and Neuter Project and Pasado’s Safe Haven also participate.
It’s not too late to enter your own cat. See a list of categories and an entry form — due Saturday — at www.averagejoecatshow.org.
