Anniversary breakfast
The Greater Everett Community Foundation is inviting the public to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a breakfast.
The event is planned from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Sept. 13 at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.

Dance with a cop: Cops and firefighters plan to hit the dance floor Sept. 10 to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Snohomish County.
The competition is at 7 p.m. at the Everett Arthur Murray Dance Studio, 5307 Evergreen Way. Firefighters, sheriff’s deputies and police officers, partnered with dance instructors, will present a program they’ve been rehearsing diligently.
The event raised almost $3,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters last year.
Tickets are $40 and include three dance lessons, snacks and beverages, dancing, the contest and a professional show by Arthur Murray dancers.

Brunch for school supplies: Zion Lutheran Church in Snohomish is hosting a brunch to raise money for the School Supplies in a Backpack Program.
As part of the program, Snohomish Community Food Bank provides backpacks full of school supplies to eligible children in the area.
The brunch is planned from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 18 at the church, 329 Ave. A, Snohomish. Suggested donation is $10 per person or $25 for a family of four. No need to register.
