Chemical spill drill in Stanwood: Stanwood High School will be having a chemical spill drill Friday.
It’s 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the high school at 7400 272nd St. NW in Stanwood.
The street will be closed during the drill.
The emergency response will involve the police and fire departments, as well as several school staffers, who will practice the incident-command process and learn how to properly respond in the event of an actual chemical spill. This training is part of a requirement for a safe schools grant through the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
