Ex-NFL QB to speak
Retired NFL quarterback Jon Kitna is scheduled to be the speaker at the annual Snohomish County prayer breakfast sponsored by the YMCA of Snohomish County.
The event is planned for 6:45 to 8:30 a.m. March 29 at Comcast Arena at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center, 2000 Hewitt Avenue, Everett.
Tickets need to be purchased ahead of time. The reservation deadline is Friday or upon sellout.
The prayer breakfast is designed to bring the community together in a nondenominational setting to give thanks and seek guidance for the year.

Learn about senior volunteering: Dr. John McAlpine, local head of the Retirees &Senior Volunteer Program, plans to speak at Thursday’s National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association meeting at the PUD Auditorium, 20118 Highway 99, Edmonds. His group provides opportunities for seniors to share skills and experience through volunteer service. Refreshments are served at 12:30 p.m. with the meeting scheduled for 1 p.m.
