Author and radio producer Harriet Baskas plans to talk about the offbeat and unusual people, places and things in Washington at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave.
Some of what she is expected to highlight include the story behind the statue of the world’s largest egg in Winlock and the drive-through stump displayed at a rest stop on I-5.
Chat, coffee on tap in Mountlake Terrace: People in Mountlake Terrace are invited to join city officials for a cup of coffee to hear about what’s happening in the city.
The event is planned from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Recreation Pavilion Center Court, 5303 228th St. SW. Mayor Pro Tem Laura Sonmore and councilmembers Doug McCardle and Seaun Richards plan to be at the event.
Motorcycle benefit for food banks: The Angel of the Winds Casino is sponsoring a motorcycle ride to benefit food banks in Marysville, Arlington and Stanwood.
People can participate by paying $10 for a game card.
The ride is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Sound Harley-Davidson store, 16212 Smokey Point Blvd., Smokey Point.
The 40-mile ride ends at the Angel of Winds Casino, 3438 Stoluckquamish Lane, Arlington.
