Controlled burn
Firefighters are set to begin burning down the former Indian Ridge prison camp east of Arlington today.
The state Department of Natural Resources property will be reforested.
Before that, Snohomish County Fire District 21 will use some of the buildings for firefighting training through controlled burns.
One session is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. Another session tentatively has been set for later in the month.
Celebrity encounters: Meet up with Wolverine, Capt. America and probably one or two Hulks.
Members of the Northwest Mutant Academy Costuming Club and other clubs across the state are set to appear in costume from noon to 4 p.m. today at the BobaKhan Toy Store, 2916 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
Entrance is free, but donations are being asked for to benefit the Washington chapter of the Make-A-Wish foundation.
People can buy raffle tickets. They also can take photographs with at least 20 club members in costume for free.

Fabric sale: The Snohomish County Chapter of the Clothing and Textile Advisors of Washington plans its annual Fabric Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the McCollum Park Education building, 600 128th St. SE in south Everett, located behind the WSU Extension office.
A portion of the proceeds from this sale will be used toward Camp Stitch-a-Lot scholarships.
Donations of fabric, notions, trims, patterns, books, magazines, yarn and needlework items will be accepted from 4-8 p.m. June 8.
