Fishing derby
Mark your calendar. The Marysville Kiwanis Club, Everett Steelhead and Salmon Club, John’s Sporting Goods and Marysville Parks, Culture and Recreation will be sponsoring the 22nd Annual free Fishing Derby May 7 at the Jennings Memorial Park Kiwanis Pond on Saturday, 6915 Armar Road.
The event, which starts at 8 a.m., is open to children ages 12 and under. Children may bring their own equipment or use the equipment that will be provided.
Door prizes and grand prizes will be determined by a random drawing of all participants. The Kiwanis Club will sponsor a $5 pancake breakfast 8-11 a.m. in the barn.
All participants are asked to bring a canned food item to be donated to the Marysville Food Bank. Sorry, no pets.
Groundbreaking for Lakewood High School: The Lakewood School District invites families to the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Lakewood High School at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lakewood High School Stadium, 17023 11th Ave. NE.
The event is free and refreshments are provided. Call 360-652-4500 for more information.
