The city of Everett is enlisting volunteers help to plant 40,000 flowering plants along Mukilteo Boulevard from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
The plants are destined for 15,000 square feet of beds near Forest Park. People of all ages are welcome. Just dress for the weather and be ready to get dirty.
Everett Parks &Recreation will provide safety vests, gloves, tools and commemorative buttons.
A free shuttle is available at the View Ridge Plaza parking lot located west of Forest Park at the three-way intersection of Mukilteo and Olympic boulevards and Dogwood Drive.

The historic schooner Adventuress, celebrating its centennial year, will visit Everett for dockside tours and public sails Friday and Saturday. The 133-foot-long national historic landmark is sailing from Tacoma. The schooner will be open for free public dockside tours from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Port of Everett Marina.
Adventuress is offering a three-hour public sailing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There is a wait list for this sail. View their website for upcoming sails in the area.
