Firefighters plan to offer free blood pressure checks at the Mill Creek wellness fair on Aug. 19. The idea is to encourage seniors living in Fire District 7, which includes the city, to keep up-to-date health paperwork in case medics are called to their homes.
The free fair runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
Kids concert in Mill Creek: There will be summer music performances and entertainment for children from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Library Park, 15429 Bothell-Everett Highway in Mill Creek.
Rolie Polie Guacamole, a kids’ band from New York, will play funk, rock and folk music about healthy eating, natural living and staying active.
The event is free but people are asked to bring a donation for the Mill Creek Food Bank.
Learn how to help in Marysville: Marysville residents are invited to learn how their skills and talents can benefit the community at a free Volunteer Fair, 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Red Curtain Arts Center, 1410 Grove St.
Learn more about a dozen local nonprofits and how to help. Participants include the Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce, the Marysville Community Food Bank, Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts, Marysville Strawberry Festival and Quil Ceda Community Services.
Admission is free, and there will be refreshments and giveaways.
