Gun safety giveaway
Several health organizations will be at Fred Meyer in Monroe from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, giving away free lock boxes and trigger locks to encourage gun safety.
People also can receive training on how to use a lock box and trigger lock. Supplies are limited — first come, first served.
Transportation in Mukilteo: Mukilteo is seeking volunteers to help advise the city on transportation needs, priorities and funding. The task force will be composed of two members of city commissions, two local business owners or representatives and five city residents with expertise or interest in transportation.
Anyone interested in serving on the task force should apply by July 2. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, including a resume or other material, either electronically to mliias@ci.mukilteo.wa.us or by mail to Marko Liias, policy analyst, City of Mukilteo, 11930 Cyrus Way, Mukilteo, WA 98275.
Pool closure: The Mountlake Terrace city pool will be closed Friday. A new spray tool is being added to the leisure pool. Other parts of the Recreation Pavilion also will be closed Friday. Summer programs begin Monday.
