Here are some scheduled holiday closures for today:
Government: Federal, state and local offices are closed.
Schools: Closed.
Post offices: Closed, although express mail service continues.
Commerce: Many businesses are closed, Everett and Alderwood malls are open, most banks are closed.
Transportation: Community Transit has canceled some Seattle commuter trips. Everett Transit is on a regular schedule. For ferry information, go to www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries or call 888-808-7977.
The Herald: The delivery deadline is 7:30 a.m. Customer service for home delivery will be open from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Call 425-339-3200. Classified advertising and the front lobby are closed.
Celebrate county’s black heritage: The Communities of Color Coalition and NAACP Snohomish County plan to celebrate African-Americans in Snohomish County at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Snohomish County campus, Robert J. Drewel Building, first floor, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.
Please share stories of community elders. Refreshments and light snacks will be served.

Volunteer in Edmonds: South County Senior Center is looking for volunteers to help with the Surplus Food Program, which distributes food Monday through Wednesday in Edmonds.
