Fire demo planned
Firefighters in Granite Falls plan a home fire-protection sprinkler demonstration at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Granite Falls IGA.
The event will include two fires in two similar “rooms” — one with fire sprinklers and one without. There also will be information available about smoke alarms.
Human trafficking is focus of lunch talk: Jenn Rosenberg will discuss her personal experience with human trafficking, while working at an orphanage in 2006 on the Thailand-Burma border, during an April 23 presentation hosted by Soroptimist International of Everett.
The luncheon event costs $12 and starts at noon at the Everett Golf and Country Club, 1500 52nd St. SE. RSVP to Rebecca Brayton at 425-259-8367.
“These experiences and stories have personally changed my life and I will do whatever it takes to bring awareness and support to combat human trafficking,” Rosenberg said.
Earth Day on Camano Island: A free celebration of the Earth is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Camano Plaza parking lot. There will be free native plants, demonstrations, kids activities and more.
Learn about worm bins, soil health and protecting the Camano landscape.
