Hula Hoop
An attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest Hula Hoop routine is scheduled from1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 26 at Everett Memorial Stadium, 3802 Broadway. The routine consists of basic moves like marching in place, lunges and squats, all while holding a Hula Hoop. Hula Hoops will be provided. To participate, you must be at least 8 years old and physically able to complete a simple 2?½-minute routine. Register at Washington.providence.org/hoopitup. Check-in and set up starts at 1:30 p.m., three group practice sessions will be conducted before the attempt to break the record. The event is sponsored by Providence’s Institute for a Healthier Community.
Tight parking: Construction for the new Snohomish County courthouse means parking will be extremely limited in the coming weeks around the sheriff’s office and the county jail.
For now, street parking remains open along Rockefeller and Oakes avenues and Wall Street. Visitors are advised to give themselves extra time for parking.
Marijuana hearing: The city of Gold Bar has scheduled a public hearing about an enterprise that is seeking a permit for growing, processing and selling marijuana in town at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at City Hall.
The proposed location for the marijuana operation is 41711 U.S.2.
