Snohomish County Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens plans to hire a new fire chief in 2015.
Chief Dave Lingenfelter is retiring after working for the fire district more than 20 years.
The job pays up to $160,000. Applications are due by Feb. 1.
Police body cams unlikely here: Snohomish County’s two largest police agencies, the county sheriff’s office and the Everett Police Department, say they have no plans to obtain body cameras for deputies and officers.
The technology has made headlines recently after being rolled out in a pilot program in Seattle.
Everett police say they will watch how the technology works in other cities. The sheriff’s office says the cameras are too expensive at this time, and there are not enough resources for them to handle storing the digital recordings and processing public records requests for the recordings.
