Exhibit on old mills
“Weavers, Wobblies and Woe: The story of shingle workers in Snohomish County” is the first exhibit of 2012 at the Edmonds Historical Museum. It runs from now until March 4.
Shingle mills were a dangerous place to work during the time of the lumber industry’s reign in Snohomish County. Though shingle workers were considered the elites, their unions often struggled with the mill owners.
A donation of $2 is suggested for adults and $1 for kids to see this exhibit. The museum is open from 1 to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, at 118 5th Ave. N. in Edmonds.
