An information night for parents and kids interested in the Stanwood Camano Island Soap Box Derby is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Stanwood Camano Community Resource Center, 9612 271st St. NW. Mill Creek searches for new finance director: The city’s budget guru is leaving his job Friday. Finance Director Joshua Roundy resigned after less than a year overseeing the city’s budget.

Retired Finance Director Landy Manuel has agreed to step in until a replacement is hired. The city expects to have a candidate selected by mid-May.

Inequality and health: Stephen Bezruchka, of the University of Washington’s School of Public Health, will give the lecture “Inequality Kills” at a public meeting of the League of Women Voters, 7 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood.
