Fair ribbon time
The Evergreen State Fair begins at the end of August. Learn about how to enter, and perhaps win a ribbon, in the baked goods and home preserved food categories at the fair.
Classes are planned for 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Saturday at the fairgrounds, 14405 179th Ave. SE in Monroe. It’s in the Display Hall, Building 500 and parking is free.
Entries are open to anyone of any age, any place of residence and any skill level. The class is free and you don’t have to register.

Car show: People who want to register their cars for the 31st annual Show-n-Shine event can do so by mail until Aug. 1.

The cost is $15. Send forms to Granite Falls Show-n-Shine, 5830 Scherrer Road, Granite Falls, WA 98252.
Day-of-show registration on Aug. 6 is $20 and scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon. Show-n-Shine is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. along S. Granite Avenue.
