A ceremony is planned today for three retiring firefighters with Snohomish County Fire District 1.
The ceremony for Battalion Chief Paul Stredwick, Capt. Skip Horne and firefighter Dean Boyle is set for 9 a.m. at the Martha Lake Fire Station 21, 16819 13th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
Parking will be available in the north and east parking lots of the neighboring Christ the Rock Church.
Seminar set: WSU Snohomish County Extension Beach Watchers and the city of Mukilteo is offering an interactive seminar on the “Cultural and Ecological Importance of Trees” with Tamara Neuffer.
The event is set for 7 p.m. June 4 at Mukilteo City Hall, 11930 Cyrus Way.
Attendees will learn how to make body oil, about the healing power of the Western Washington native conifers and celebrate the importance of trees in daily life.
Neuffer is the outreach and education coordinator for the Stillaguamish Tribe.
The seminar is part of “Explore Puget Sound, In Depth” — a free public seminar series that occurs the first Wednesday of every month.
