Lynnwood seeks volunteers
The city of Lynnwood is looking for volunteers to serve on commissions involving the arts, diversity and local history. Terms are for three years. Applicants must live in the city and be registered to vote. Each commission meets monthly.
The city also has volunteer opportunities in parks and with the police and fire departments, in addition to court-ordered community service time available in parks.

Burn ban under way: A burn ban is in place in Snohomish County as of Tuesday afternoon, due to stagnant weather and rising air pollution. No outdoor fires are allowed, and most indoor burning is banned unless the home meets certain exemptions. People who are sensitive to pollution should limit their time outdoors until the ban is lifted.
