Fire district grant
The Marysville Fire District recently was awarded a $15,000 equipment grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The money will be used to buy a testing machine to make sure that firefighters’ air packs are working correctly, Marysville Fire Marshal Tom Maloney said.
FEMA will pay $12,000, and the fire district must pay $3,000 in matching funds.
The new equipment will help keep the firefighters safe and help the district meet federal safety standards, Maloney said.
Toys get to sleep over at library: Tall Tales, Shaggy Ears is a family program set for 7 p.m. Friday at the Stanwood Library, 9701 271st St. NW.
Kids are encouraged to wear pajamas, bring a favorite stuffed animal and join a puppet play, then listen to a lullaby and say good night to their furry friends.
The toys stay at the library for a midnight adventure, and can be picked up the next morning, along with photos of their escapades.
