Meet finalist for Lake Stevens fire chief
The Lake Stevens Fire Department has narrowed its list of candidates for a new fire chief to four. Chief Dave Lingenfelter is scheduled to retire April 1, after more than 20 years with the department.
People can meet the four finalists for the chief position during a reception and open house at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the fire district’s conference center, 10518 18th St.
The candidates include an interim fire chief from Oregon, a deputy fire chief from California, the Orcas Island fire chief and the interim director for Snohomish County’s Emergency Services Coordinating Agency. The candidates also are expected to complete a tour of the community and a final interview this month.
Family research lesson in Arlington: The Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society plans to host a presentation on finding federal documents, including those not available online, for family research. The meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Arlington Free Methodist Church, 730 Highland Drive. Admission is free.
Mill Creek plans parks and open space: An open house is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 18 at Mill Creek City Hall. The city is asking people for input on proposed changes to the plan for parks and open space.
At the event, the city will use an live survey system that allows people to answer questions from the audience on individual keypads. The answers are tallied and displayed on a screen.
