Memorial fun run
The Brett Jensen Memorial Fun Walk and Run begins at 9 a.m. Saturday in Everett.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Legion Memorial Park, 145 Alverson Blvd.
This event is held in memory of Brett Jensen, who fell to his death at the University of Washington
on May 7, 2002. The purpose of this non-competitive walk and run is to keep his memory alive; to encourage health and fitness; to raise money for the Brett Akio Jensen Memorial Scholarship Fund; and to have fun.
The Cascade High School Class of 2001, Jensen’s graduating class, is holding their 10-year reunion the same weekend. Some of Jensen’s classmates are expected at the memorial, said Jensen’s father, Donald Jensen. For more information, go to www.brettjensen.wordpress.com.
Dog wash benefits shelter: The Camano Animal Shelter Association is planning its fifth annual dog wash from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the shelter, corner of Can Ku Road and East Camano Drive.
Each freshly washed dog will receive a bandana. Additional services will include nail-clipping and micro-chipping. All proceeds from the event benefit CASA.
