Gerry Andal memorial
A public memorial for local restaurateur and country musician Gerry Andal is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Comcast Arena’s Edward D. Hansen Conference Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
Andal, 68, died in Everett after undergoing heart surgery. A fixture at the Evergreen State Fair, the country musician and horse enthusiast had run restaurants in the area for decades.
The Snohomish County parking garage on Oakes Avenue and Wall Street will be open, even though it’s a Sunday.
Apply for scholarship: The Alpha Alpha chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, the International Honorary Organization for Women Educators, is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduate of Snohomish or Lake Stevens high schools preparing for a career as a teacher.
The applicant must be a junior or senior in a college program by this fall.
Applications are due by April 1.

Learn about crabbing: Washington State University Extension’s Camano Beach Watchers group is scheduled to host a presentation by Don Velasquez, a biologist with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, on crabs and crabbing.
The free presentation is set for 7 tonight at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 N. East Camano Drive.
