Mill site discussion
The Everett City Council plans a public hearing on an emergency moratorium that halts any potential development at the Kimberly-Clark mill site at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the council chambers, 3002 Wetmore Ave.
The council already passed the moratorium Feb. 15, which affects the mill site as well as property around it, known as the Central Waterfront Planning Area.

Don’t be alarmed: A gun salute is planned as part of the change of command ceremony Wednesday morning aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz at Naval Station Everett.
Sailors plan to practice the gun salute several times Tuesday and Wednesday before the ceremony.
Base officials want people to be aware of the noise should the gun blasts be heard beyond the waterfront.
Capt. Jeffrey Ruth will take command of the Nimitz from Capt. Paul Monger at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Golf tournament fundraiser: Lynnwood High School is set to host the Royal Classic Golf tournament to raise funds for its program at 8 a.m. June 2 at Walter Hall, 1226 W. Casino Road, Everett. Tournament is open to public. The cost to participate is $75 per person and includes golf, tee prize, entry into raffles and lunch.
There will also be a silent auction and raffle drawings. Lynnwood High School is also seeking sponsors for this event. It costs $200 to be a hole sponsor. It costs $500 to be a sponsor and for a foursome. For more information, email the group at lhsgolf@comcast.net.
