A panel of judges is tasked with selecting this year’s Miss Aquafest, who will represent Lake Stevens in four parades and at events such as National Night Out and holiday festivities. Miss Aquafest and other participants in the pageant also help with fundraisers, including Relay for Life, Walk for MS and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
The pageant is for girls ages 5 to 18. Participants are judged on casual wear, evening gown, interviews and personal introductions, with optional contests for academics, community service and being photogenic. During the event, organizers also plan to collect donations of unopened boxes of tampons, sanitary pads and wipes for low-income women.
