Sewer line testing
The Mountlake Terrace Public Works Department is using smoke this month to test sewer lines for leaks and other problems.
The testing started Monday. People in town may see smoke coming from manholes, downspouts, ground surfaces and storm drains for a brief period during the testing. Smoke should not be entering homes. Folks should run some water down unused sinks and toilets to prevent that.
Neighborhoods will be told when work is planned, officials said. Call 425-670-8264 for more information.
Bingo Karaoke benefit: Get ready to channel your inner zombie — or vampire — for Bingo Karaoke at the Carl Gipson Senior Center in Everett on Oct. 18. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the games kick off at 7 p.m. Participants must be 21 and older. Costumes are encouraged.
Arrive a little early to get situated and grab dinner and drinks from local businesses on hand for the evening. Daubers will also be sold. The night’s itinerary cycles between several games of bingo, followed by several karaoke songs, with three opportunities to purchase additional “special” games throughout the night. Groups can purchase special sponsored tables with extra perks.
There will also be a silent auction of wood carvings from local artist Larry Carter.
All proceeds go the Everett Senior Center Foundation. For tickets, go to www.brownpapertickets.com/event/883626.
