Updates on Lynnwood construction: Some major construction projects in Lynnwood’s City Center are making progress. The eight-story senior apartments at 19501 40th Ave. W. now are getting the final beams and windows installed, said Dustin Akers, a city project manager. Opening is not expected until the latter half of 2017. The other large apartment complex under construction, at 3720 196th St. SW, is at a similar stage on the east side, but the west side has more work to go. That complex is designed as affordable housing, with seven stories. The Hilton Garden Inn site along Alderwood Mall Boulevard is awaiting building permits. The hotel plans call for six stories.
