New turf coming
A plan to renovate the Meadowdale Playfields in Lynnwood is on track. The City Council on Monday is expected to review a proposed contract with the consultant, D.A. Hogan of Seattle.
The contract is for design and engineering, city parks director Lynn Sordel said. Design should wrap up this year, he said. Construction is anticipated to start in the spring and wrap up within a couple of months.
The entire project will cost an estimated $5.3 million. The two soccer fields will get artificial turf, as will three infields in the softball diamonds.
The Edmonds School District owns the 27-acre property, which is maintained and managed by the city of Lynnwood through a long-term contract. The city of Edmonds also has rights to use the fields.
