Join Edmonds Discovery Programs and the WSU Snohomish County Extension for a low-tide beach walk under the stars. The beach walk is scheduled from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Jan. 17 at Olympic Beach, 200 Admiral Way in Edmonds.
Bring a flashlight and dress for the weather. Meet at the Olympic Beach Visitor Station. Explore the beach as the tide goes out and then return to the visitor station for some hot beverages.
Art workshop for teens: Zentangle is a fun, relaxing and easy-to-learn way to create beautiful art by drawing structured patterns. Even if you think you can’t draw, you can do this, and the results are amazing. Join other teens when certified Zentangle teachers Patty Steele and Janel Carson help you unleash your inner creativity. For teens in grades six to 12. White birds of winter: Thousands of trumpeter and tundra swans and snow geese have migrated from Alaska and Canada to feed in the farm fields of Washington. On Jan. 29 at 7 p.m., the Trumpeter Swan Society’s Martha Jordan will present a lecture and slide show about these birds at the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s Northwest Stream Center in Snohomish County’s McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE in Everett. Registration is required by calling 425-316-8592. Cost is $5 for Adopt A Stream Foundation members, $7 for non-members.
