A flapjack fundraiser is planned from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Applebee’s, 4626 W. 196th St. SW, in Lynnwood to raise money for Serene Dana, a 1-year-old Shoreline girl who underwent a liver transplant earlier this year. Ticket prices are $10 per person and can be purchased in advance or at the door by contacting Kara Hillius at cotaforserened@gmail.com.
Serene was born on July 12, 2012, and soon after was diagnosed with biliary atresia. Serene was able to undergo a liver transplant surgery in April at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
The fundraiser through Children’s Organ Transplant Association will help the family pay for about $100,000 in medical costs.
