Some places are closed Monday, others are on a regular schedule:
Government: Federal, state and local offices are closed.
Schools: Closed.
Garbage: Waste Management and Rubatino Refuse Removal picks up and recycles on its regular schedule.
Post offices: Closed, although express mail service continues.
Commerce: Many businesses are closed, Everett and Alderwood malls are open, most banks are closed. State run liquor stores are open.
Transportation: Community Transit has changed some commuter trips to Seattle, but otherwise is on a regular schedule. Everett Transit is on a regular schedule. For ferry information, go to www. wsdot.wa.gov/ferries or call 888-808-7977.
The Herald: The delivery deadline is 7:30 a.m. Classified advertising and the front lobby are closed. Customer service for home delivery is be open from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
State workers get four days off: Tuesday is the next widespread shutdown of state agencies as a result of budget shortfalls.
They have to close, without pay, for 10 days this year.

Free civics class: Marysville residents can register now for a free, one-night civics class about the Marysville Police Department.
The class, “Marysville Police: Protecting Our Community, Preventing and Solving Crime,” is planned at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1049 State Ave.
