Register to vote
People can register to vote in time for the Nov. 4 election at the Snohomish High School commons from 7:45 to 10 a.m. Saturday. The address is 1316 Fifth St. Snohomish County Auditor’s Office staff will be on hand to register voters and answer questions.
A breakfast benefiting the Snohomish High School senior class will begin at 7:45 a.m., and candidates for congressional, legislative, judicial and local offices will make brief statements beginning at 8:30 a.m.
People also can register to vote in person at the auditor’s office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Oct. 27. The address is 3000 Rockefeller Ave. in Everett.
To vote in Washington, you must be a U.S. citizen; a state resident for at least 30 days; at least 18 years old by election day; not disqualified by a court order, and not currently under state supervision for a felony conviction.
Snohomish County budget forum Monday: The County Council has scheduled a public meeting Monday night to discuss the $230 million budget for 2015 that County Executive John Lovick proposed last month.
People are encouraged to share their opinions about the county’s spending.
The budget forum is to begin at 6:30 p.m. on the eighth floor of the county’s Bob Drewel Building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. A second forum is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at McCollum Park, 620 128th St. SE in Mill Creek.
Hearings on the executive’s proposed budget, and the council’s revised version, are planned in November.
