Repairs planned
Work to fix 212th Street SW in Lynnwood is scheduled over the next few months.
A 12-inch pipe failed underneath the asphalt Nov. 1, just east of 60th Avenue W. About 300 feet of roadway buckled. Temporary repairs followed.
The design phase for permanent repairs is supposed to be finished by the end of the month. Paving is expected in June. The affected stretch of the water main is part of the last 1,000 feet of asbestos-lined concrete piping in the city.

Monroe wants you: The Monroe School District is looking for people who will share their skills and interests in community classes. Teaching credentials are not required be a instructor for Sky Valley Community Schools.
The next session begins in March. Instructors must sign up by Tuesday. Most teachers receive 60 percent of registration fees, which vary by class.

Get ready for kindergarten: Monroe Public Schools is hosting a kindergarten information night at 6:30 p.m. March 2 at each of the district’s elementary schools. Those with children who will be ready to start kindergarten in September are encouraged to attend. Monroe offers free all-day kindergarten.
