Arlington public works officials expect work on the 67th Avenue reconstruction project to start in late summer.
Improvements will include widening of the roadway for a center turn lane, completion of the Centennial Trail within the city, sidewalks and lighting, new gateway features leading to downtown and safety and mobility for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians.

Free shots: A free clinic for low-income and uninsured adults to get the whooping cough shot is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Valley General Hospital, 14701 179th Ave. S.E., Monroe.
No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome.
The shots are being offered in response to the statewide whooping cough epidemic.
As of June 15, there were 371 confirmed cases in Snohomish County. That far exceeds the 225 reported in the county during all of 2011.
Library friends: The non-profit Lake Stevens Friends of the Library is looking to fill several vacancies on its board of directors as soon as possible.
The unpaid position requires members to meet four times a year to discuss library needs and plan fundraiser activities.
