Safeguarding kids
A forum designed to provide information about protecting children from sexual exploitation is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Marysville Pilchuck High School.
The event includes three speakers, including a forensic nurse, a victim’s advocate and the mother of a missing sex trafficking victim.
There will be a question-and-answer period following each speaker’s presentation.
The event,in the school’s auditorium, 5611 108th St. NE, is sponsored by Soroptimist International of Marysville and the Marysville Council of PTAs.
Check out new pastoral center: An open house is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday for the new Holy Rosary Pastoral Center, 630 Seventh Ave. N, Edmonds. The pastoral center is a 21,000-square-foot center for the Catholic church in Edmonds that includes a teen center, food bank and other services for the community. A dedication Mass with Archbishop J. Peter Sartain of Seattle is planned for 11 a.m. May 6.
