Schack youth grants
Schack Art Center is offering scholarships for glassblowing instruction to six teens who live in Everett and whose family’s income level qualifies as low to moderate.
Part of the center’s mission is to provide youths an opportunity to participate in challenging and high-quality visual arts programs that are accessible and affordable. As funding allows, scholarships are offered to those who might not be able to participate because of income level.
Funding for this particular glassblowing course comes from a city of Everett Community Development Block Grant. The selected students will be enrolled in a 16-hour glassblowing class scheduled from April 2-5 at no cost.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be between 14-18 years of age, meet family income guidelines and live in Everett. Applicants will be considered based on financial need and a brief statement addressing why they want to take the glassblowing class.
Applications are due by March 1.
