Navy plans drill
Naval Station Everett plans to conduct security drills in the harbor around the base between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday. The exercise will include security boat maneuvers and the firing of automatic weapon blank rounds to make the training as realistic as possible. No one will be issued live ammunition.
There will be a 300-yard safety zone in effect and a broadcast notice to mariners in the area will be transmitted before and during the exercise. For more information, contact the base Public Affairs Officer Kristin Ching at 425-304-3202.
Music hall benefit: The Snohomish County Music Teachers Association plans a piano benefit concert at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Everett Music Hall located inside the Everett Mall, 1402 SE Everett Mall Way. Private-lesson music teachers from around the county are volunteering to play for the benefit of the Everett Music Hall, a nonprofit community-performance facility. Suggested donation is $10.
