Schools to get upgraded sound: Classrooms in the Edmonds School District will get improved sound systems under a plan approved by the school board.
Rather than simply providing greater amplification, the new technology allows sound to be evenly distributed throughout the classroom. The technology, comprised of a speaker and two microphones that connect through FM technology, costs about $1,200 per system. The money will come from the 2014 capital construction bond.
Schools slated to receive the newer sound systems are Alderwood Middle School and Lynndale, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Spruce elementary schools. The older sound systems from those schools would then be sent to elementary schools needing the technology; first on the list would be College Place, Chase Lake, Meadowdale, Martha Lake and Oak Heights.

Topics include end-of-life financial planning, Medicaid, wills, trusts and probate, veteran’s benefits and more. To register, call 360-653-4551 ext. 234.
