A cook-off for kids
Snohomish School District fourth- through sixth-grade students will prepare their favorite after-school snacks as part of the annual “Future Chefs Challenge/Kids Can Cook” Cooking Contest.
Finalists will prepare their creations at Glacier Peak High School on Jan. 26 for a panel of judges who will select the grand prize winners. In December, students were invited to submit recipes for their favorite after-school snacks. Student finalists were selected from more than 90 submitted recipes.
Have your say: Everett Community College is inviting feedback through four community events in February and March. Attendees will discuss the changing roles of community colleges, student diversity, the definition of student success and community relationships.
Each event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at a different location. The first is on the Everett Community College main campus on Feb. 8.
Those interested in attending should call 425-297-3140 or email strategicplanning@everettcc.edu.
Memorial rescheduled: The tree planting ceremony organized by Housing Hope to honor the life and dedication of former employee Toni Wiegand was postponed because of the snowstorm. The ceremony, which was scheduled for Saturday, has now moved to Jan. 28. The event will begin at 9 a.m. at the Copper Station Housing Development in Stanwood.
