Mariner High School students are planning a Harvest Festival for Oct. 31 and seek sponsors to help make the popular community event a success. Last year’s Harvest Festival saw 1,500 attendees and brought in more than 10,000 donations of food for local hunger efforts. Sponsorship levels range from $50 to $300. Genealogy talk: Lecturer Jill Morelli discusses “Unraveling Family Myths using the Principles of Logic” at the next Sno-Isle Genealogical Society meeting, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Family History Center, 22015 48th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace. A short business meeting precedes. The program is expected to start at 7 p.m. Morelli is a writer and researcher who lives in the Seattle area and belongs to numerous societies. Guest are invited. Oktoberfest: The Kiwanis Club of Lynnwood holds its Oktoberfest charity fundraiser, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Northshore Senior Center, 1201 E. Riverside Drive, Bothell. Reservations are requested by Thursday. There will be a catered dinner with brats and kraut and more, a silent auction, “cash back” raffle, live music and more. Tickets are $50.
