Green Home Tour
Clearwater Commons, a Bothell neighborhood built with techniques that minimize impacts on the environment, is being featured in the 2012 Green Home Tour this weekend.
The tour is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Clearwater Commons sports rain gardens, pervious pavement, homes on pin-pile foundations and measures to lessen energy use.
The community, six years in the making, is designed as a pedestrian-friendly village. It’s located along North Creek and near the Bothell-Everett Highway. Five of its 16 homes are in the final stages of construction. It has common areas for gardening, storage and creek access, plus a guesthouse.
