Disability board
The city of Edmonds seeks a volunteer to fill a vacancy on the Edmonds Disability Board. The five-person board meets once per quarter. Applicants must live in Edmonds. Application forms are at City Hall, 121 Fifth Ave. N.; online at www.edmondswa.gov; or by mail by calling 425-775-2525, ext. 1348 or 1375. The deadline to apply is March 28.
Help for caregivers: A family caregiver conference is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday at Unity Church, 16727 Alderwood Mall Parkway in Lynnwood. The conference is designed to provide tools and encouragement to families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
The event, sponsored by Snohomish County Long-Term Care &Aging and the Verdant Health Commission, is free. For more information, check the Alzheimer’s Association website at alzwa.org or call 206-529-3893.
Chart Everett’s future: People are invited Tuesday to help determine what kind of community Everett should become in 20 years.
An interactive workshop is planned at 6:30 p.m. at Everett Station’s Weyerhaeuser Room, fourth floor, 3201 Smith St. It’s part of a process to revise Everett’s comprehensive plan through 2035.
Topics include quality of life, growth policies, code changes and environmental initiatives.
