Return of hometown man: Massy Ferguson, a Washington-based Americana act fronted by Ethan Anderson, who grew up in Everett and Marysville, will entertain at 4:15 p.m. Sunday at the Summer Meltdown at White Horse Amphitheater in Darrington.
Their album, “Hard Water”, includes references to Everett, including the song, “Freedom County.”
Anderson remembers one of Snohomish County’s more unusual stories from the mid-90s, the attempt by a coalition of rural residents who attempted to carve a new community out of most of Snohomish County.
“I find the Northwest in general is really an untapped resource for songs,” he said. “I met a lot of characters, saw a lot of crazy things unique to the area but universal at the same time.”
Shop and Shred: Quilceda Community Services provides residential care for special-needs adults at several Marysville locations.
To raise money, the agency offers a Shop and Shred on Saturday.
A yard sale is planned from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1402 State Ave.
Bring paper to be shredded from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the same location. It costs $3 per shopping bag and $7 for a banker’s box.
