Plan a Mill Creek park
The public is invited to help design the city’s newest park in the East Gateway neighborhood. A brainstorming session is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Heatherwood Middle School Cafeteria.
City staff will provide background and an overview of park planning requirements, and participants will break into small discussion groups to brainstorm ideas for facilities that should be included in the new park and how the park should be designed.
The park design consultant will take the ideas generated during this brainstorming session and develop two alternatives to be presented at an open house on Nov. 6.

Pancake fundraiser: A pancake breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary of Gold Bar’s VFW Post at the VFW Hall, 301 Third St.
The event is a fundraiser to help pay medical bills for Kim Drake of Gold Bar a longtime cashier at Family Grocer, who has cancer.
Cost for the breakfast is $5, and the fundraiser will run from 7:30 a.m. to noon. For more information, call Dorothy Croshaw, 360-793-2479.
