Youth Challenge
The Lynnwood Rotary Club this year celebrates its 25th annual Youth Challenge Awards program. The program is open to all Snohomish County students in grades 7-12. Awards are given for leadership, courage, creativity and community service. There also is a group award, and one graduating senior will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship. Know an outstanding teen who has made an impact? The nomination deadline is April 21. Awards will be presented at a May 18 ceremony. Free CPR training: Premera Blue Cross and the American Red Cross plans a free hands-only CPR training course. Each attendee will be given a first aid kit. Classes are scheduled for April 13 at 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at Edmonds Community College. Ferry art contest: Washington State Ferries invites high school students to submit art in a contest to grace the covers of 985,000 summer sailing schedule pamphlets. Teens’ original art should reflect the theme “Summer sightings on the ferry.” The contest ends April 10. Submissions must be in black and white. Find details at http://tinyurl.com/kaaf2ly.
